Creative Mixed Media Landscape with Jennifer Duncan
October 8 - November 12$275
Class limited to 10 students
This virtual and plein air class will focus on using the landscape in new ways to inspire sketchbook work and mixed-media paintings. Working in water-based paints and collage, participants will experiment with different approaches, starting with a visual reference that is processed and transformed, to more formal grids and direct abstract expressionism. Students will be encouraged to have fun and create personally directed paintings. We will meet via Zoom for all but one class, when we will take a (socially distanced) field trip to River Bend Park in Great Falls. There, we will take resource photos and sketch ideas to be used for larger paintings, as the course develops. This class is suitable for adults of all painting levels and will be limited to 10 Students.A short Zoom in-person tutorial and supply list will be available to registered students in September. “I work in water-based mediums in a spontaneous, abstract fashion. My paintings are inspired by and evolve from my observations of nature. I am guided by color, line and texture, always seeking new methods to create interesting surfaces.”
