Portrait Painting from a Live Model

Spring Session Dates: April 29, May 13 & 20, June 3 & 10 |  4:15-7:15pm

[Prerequisite: Teacher Recommendation]

In these five Mondays, students will paint the portrait from a live model.  Our model will pose the same each class so students can develop the long study.  We will practice building the portrait in five steps, from open to closed grisaille, and transitioning into full color.  Students will learn how to go back into a dry painting and block in all over again in order to expand the value range and further shape develop. Students will have the opportunity to attempt finishing the facial features.
Model fees are separate and will be divided by the students equally.
Supply fee is $36, includes one 20 X 16 inch toned gray canvas, solvent, paper towels, one Silver Grand Prix filbert brush and palette paper.  Students are required to bring their own artists oil colors.
